Meet Melissa
Melissa has more than twenty years of experience with tax preparation and ten in accounting. Although for many years her primary focus was early childhood education, her connection to helping people file taxes grew into a passion when in 2012, she trained to prepare taxes through a retail tax company. Within one season, Melissa was an office manager, recruiter and a new tax preparer course teacher.
While trying to fill the time in the off-season, Melissa found herself instead, enrolled in the Accountancy program at Asheville Buncombe Technical Community College (AB Tech). While enrolled at ABTech, Melissa took on a challenging role as a finance manager for a large Asheville company. In 2019, she obtained an Associates’ Degree in Accounting from ABTech. Always eager to expand her education and licensures, Melissa obtained her Bachelors' Degree at The University of North Carolina at Asheville (UNCA). She also served as the Treasurer of the school’s Accountancy Association and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

Melissa is the mother of two children, Madigan and Toby. Originally from Holly, Michigan, Melissa called Asheville, NC home for fifteen years before recently moving to Boston, MA. She has served in various community volunteer roles throughout the years and maintains a personal relationship with the professional musician community in Asheville, as she and her family are all musicians.
